Who We Are
BEAM Broadband is a locally owned internet and cable service provider in Russell County, Alabama. Since our inception in 1964, BEAM has been known to the community by many names. However, our commitment to the community has been unwavering.
Mr. Roy M. Greene, a native of the area, founded the company after he heard of a new method of delivering television to the home. It was called CATV. No one at the time was willing to invest in bringing cable TV to Phenix City and Russell County, but Mr. Greene wanted the people in the community to have access to the latest technology. BEAM began initial operations in Mr. Greene’s barn and is now one of Alabama’s largest independent cable operators, bringing East Alabama faster internet speeds and the latest technology. Throughout the decades, technicians and engineers have built over 1,500 miles of cable and fiber across Russell and Lee counties.
BEAM Broadband is still owned and operated by the family of Mr. Greene, and we continue his vision and passion for giving back to the community by donating to local schools, charities, counties, and municipalities.
In addition to providing internet and cable for local residents, our service has an extensive network of commercial partners, offering fiber and VOIP solutions to local businesses.
BEAM Broadband isn’t just a name. It’s an acronym for Bringing East Alabama More – more technology, more internet, more community. The people who work here take those things to heart and consistently bring more to the table day after day.
